Scholars Search Lexicon (SSL) is a cutting-edge, high-impact academic index database launched in 2024 in association with Anchor Book Publisher Africa and Leviathan Press. It indexes well-researched journals and articles, providing researchers and scholars with a comprehensive platform to access a vast repository of abstracts, citation data, and metadata from reputable research journals and individual articles.

All submissions to the SSL Index must be original scholarly works. The SSL Index only accepts original scholarly works. Authors are solely responsible for any copyright infringement that may arise from their work. Submissions that do not meet academic and ethical standards will not be indexed.

Academics who index their research with SSL receive a unique code identifier, enhancing the visibility, traceability, and professional recognition of their scholarly work.

What an SSL Code Is

The SSL Code is a unique, permanent, and exclusive academic identifier assigned by Scholars Search Lexicon (SSL) to:

  • Individual authors/researchers
  • Journals
  • Academic institutions
  • Corporate organizations

whose works have been indexed in the SSL database. It functions as a digital badge of recognition that verifies scholarly contributions and serves as a universal identifier for those achievements.

How the Process Works

  1. Submit Your Work — Researchers or publishers submit content (articles, journals, series, etc.) for consideration. This increases the work's visibility and potential impact.
  2. Get Approved — Submitted works undergo a stringent, multi-layered vetting process by field experts. This includes quality checks (aligned with SSL's requirement that indexed journals pass a common Plagiarism-free Assessment Test) to ensure only high-quality, original research is accepted.
  3. Get Indexed & Assigned a Code — Once approved and indexed, the work (and/or the associated author, journal, or organisation) receives a unique SSL Code. This code acts as a global academic search index identifier that enhances discoverability and credibility within the SSL platform and the broader scholarly community.

  • Recognition-focused — It primarily serves as a badge verifying inclusion in the SSL index rather than a technical persistent identifier with the deep linking/metadata features of other systems.
  • Tied to indexing — Codes are issued as a result of successful indexing, not simply by creating an account.
  • Free to obtain (for eligible indexed works) — Get your free SSL Code, though full membership (paid) unlocks broader features such as unlimited submissions, full-text access, and downloads.

In short, the SSL Code is awarded after a work successfully passes SSL's quality and originality review and is added to the database. It then serves as a lasting marker of that scholarly contribution within the Scholars Search Lexicon ecosystem.
